Why keep to-do lists?

planner listsAs you might know, if you follow my social media, I absolutely love to make lists. Which in return makes me want to cross those bullet points out. This is a great way to be productive if you're like me, whith many ideas and with a knack for distraction!
I cannot do without my planner! However, how do I make sure I'm actually completing these tasks? Well good thing you're reading this because I'm going to tell you!

And as that I have tasted countless Ischoklad, Semla pasteries, Pepparkaka, Lussekatt and my favorite chocolate Daim! I dare say that it is as good as Swiss chocolate! I have made this healthy version of these as Carob Bliss Bites before and they were so good, so if you are on a regime you might want to check it out.

What's on my phone!

Let me tell you what I have on my phone as I have never owned an android os and it has been great to test out new things! Being abke to customize so many aspects on this phablet has been a great experience and something I never thought would bring such benefits or productivity. I have a Huawei Ascend Mate 7, and I'm loving it! I like the large 6 inch screen and the camera, as colors are true to real life. I really apreciate the dual sim slot and the HD screen, sometimes pictures from other people can look not so sharp on Instagram but that's something I'm willing to overlook. Being that I'm a fan of the Emotion UI and how it works well with certain functionalities, it can resemble the likes of iOS whuch I was accustomed to. Plus, that battery life! This phone lasts 2 days easily! And I'm a very heavy user.
So my basic apps that I use the most are by far instagram, snapchat, taptalk, skype and afterlight. This is the wallpaper I use and the plugins I have. I like keeping minimal pages with files of related apps. Yes there is no app drawer but since I came from an iOS device I have no issues with this!

Everything about green smoothies

You've seen me share them quite often on my instagram and on here. Of course, I am talking about green smoothies! I try to drink one everyday and I have gotten some questions about this and how I'm taking care of my body.
Green smoothies tend to be mostly vegetables (as the name indicates) with a small percentage of fruit. I just need a blender and a bit of time in the mornings for this! Also, no it doesn't taste...healthy. It tastes refreshing and it's actually really good! No "earthy" after taste.

Hello! I've been busy lately but it's all good. If I were to not have anything to do I would be so bored! Not gonna lie though, I am stretched pretty thin but I didn't want to not post today so I decided on sharing a Instagram challenge by the wonderful Cori from TheResetGirl.

Hello! So we've been on this mission to find something other then butter or olive oil to cook our food. And what we have found is called Ghee. Now that we've tasted this golden deliciousness it's much easier to get addicted to it and make it ourselves. You'd be surprised how easy it is to make and since we live in Sweden it's a bit difficult to find in stores (without it costing an arm and a leg).

This is mostly a recipe that my boyfriend discovered and has told me of it's benefits. Apparently, this is considered golden liquid in India. It is important to use high quality butter to create Ghee of he best flavor. This is great for your nails, hair and skin as it has vitamin K. This vitamin is good for people in need of calcium and if you want to ingest more foods with vitamin K here are some: spinach, kale, asparagus, Brussels sprouts and turnips.

Hello there! It has been enough of good weather for me to be happy and prancing around the Swedish mountains, however, there comes a time when I want a comfort food and to me this is oatmeal!

I feel like many other people also will like this combination of flavors so I've decided to share this recipe since it's spring and all yet we can still have those rainy days where you just want to stay in and cuddle while eating the deliciousness!

Loppi Blog Bag │April 2015


With all the things happening this month, I haven't had the chance to open my April Loppiblogbag until today. This is like opening a present for Christmas and, as so, I loved the experience behind receiving this! I was very impressed with my first impression with this box and its contents. I loved all the products and have since used them. Here’s what I received in my box this month:
  • Friggs' TE+ Solljus and Ekologiska Miniriskakor med mörk choklad I just might be addicted to this tea! I actually went out and bought three more! They're really good for someone who doesn't sleep much at night like me (curse you insomnia) and have no caffeine. regardinf the rice crackers with dark chocolate, well I ate them in 9.5 seconds! They were good!  
  • Bio Oil This oil is aimed to reduce stretch marks but you can also use it for dry and aging skin. Which is great for me since I get such dry skin from work! 
  • Elixir Volume Mascara and Moment de Bonheur eau de toilette from Yves Rocher. I'm always excited to try out new mascaras and so far this brand has proven to have really good ones! As for the perfume, it has a fresh odor with fruity nodes that are seemingly perfect for Spring! 
  • Pierre Robert Yup, I got panties in the mail. But to my defense they are actually really good quality! I got the lime colored ones which is a really great color for Summer. 
  • RFSU Active Balans This helps prevent vaginal infections. These tablets are good to be taken during pregnancies or during menses.

How to live with Fibromyalgia

You may have noticed that I lacked in posting here on the blog for a while. Well there's a reason for this as well as this post. Working with children is indeed wonderful but this also means that they cough, sneeze and slobber all over you. Yes I know it sounds horrible but that is just a small thing in comparison to all the other wonderful things that involve working in a preschool.
However, this also means that we get sick quite a bit. And having health issues such as hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia is a very difficult situation to balance between work and health, so i keep a good diet. The last month has been very difficult in terms of dealing with poor health from a throat infection (everyone in my school has been sick though!), then a few weeks later I got flu and fever so I couldn't go to work again. And the third time in March was when I had so much pain I had to stay at home on Friday. It was really bad and I couldn't walk. So I had to adopt even more measures to upkeep my health and live a better life without being in bed all the time.

For this I have come up with a list of things that have helped me withstand everyday pain and power-up through the week:

1. Remove coffee from your diet.

This is a difficult one for me since I love coffee but I do indulge in he occasional latte when we go out. This by no means is a restrictive diet and it shouldn't feel like that but what you need to realize is that coffee may equal a bad night of sleep and in consequence that may result in a painful day!

2. Use Ghee instead of butter.

I found this to be an interesting one as it is very obscure to find as a solution. But Ghee is good for lactose intolerant people (like I've been finding to be). If you're milk protein intolerant this is good for you too. Just make sure that you make it correctly while boiling it.

3. Replace milk chocolate.

Again, on occasion, you can have some. But since it contains milk it might "mess" up your tummy. 

4. Implement Omega 3 in your diet.

Apparently, omega 3 is very good for someone suffering from fibromyalgia. I take fish oil tablets daily and I have to say I notice an increase in energy by 25%. 

5. Exercise

This is a given but for us it can be a huge hassle. If I get 15 minutes of exercise per day I see it as a victory!

6. Reduce the intake of red meats

I have noticed that when I eat all vegan or reduce my meat intake to only chicken that I feel better and sleep better! 

7. Try using cure-tape.

This can be of great help for specific areas where pain is unbearable. In my case, it's my ribs and wrists. A lot of the times I wake up with my hands in pain and fallen asleep believe it or not.

I have loved this recipe my boyfriend has created so much I've decided to share it here. He has altered it along the time to fit our needs and make it tastier. I love that the hamburger bread isn't full of sugar and that it hold its shape while eating. Unlike store bought bread that is so dry it falls apart and before you know it you're eating your own fingers!

We add lettuce (as you do) with sweet pickles, onion and hamburger sauce we make at home. 
And at this point we're done with it as it is filling! But sometimes we decide on making fries and this is the perfect combo for when you want a cheat meal.

11 tips on living frugally in 2015

Living with a limited income is difficult but doable. First of all, different things work for different people and not everyone likes to live in such a tight budget. I’m working on a preschool and my boyfriend is working as a temp, he’s a chef. We’re doing this to save up since we ended up moving last year and we want to build upon that. So any extra money that we make goes straight into savings for our house.
I like saving money and living frugally because sometimes you have to think outside the box to survive on such a small income, yet this doesn't mean it’s impossible to have a nice life. I have learned from my mother that saving money is easy, especially when you don’t really have any high cost habits - like not drinking alcohol and smoking – that can add up to a lot per month. The next step is creating a budget and following it. Here are my favorite ways to save up money for 2015:

1. No debit Card

Cut your Credit Debt I mean it! Cut that plastic card in half, literally! We made it a rule to not even own one to begin with. Believe it or not paying loans with interest is one of the most negative aspects many families have to deal with nowadays. This also makes us live moderately without unnecessary luxuries.

2. Live with a limit 

Set a limit for you and your family. Make that budget and print it out so you can see it and follow it strictly. This will help you not get on the “red”. Making grocery lists or even wish lists is something that will help you set a general view on things as well. This can help with priorities and believe it or not but keeping things written down has helped our household a lot. We have a wish list for the house with what we need/want; for our personal hobbies; for grocery lists; for work; etc.

3. Shop smart 

This ties in with being creative but I want to talk a bit more on the subject. You need something and you go out and buy it immediately? Wrong! You read reviews, watch videos on it, look at photos on Instagram of it, as those people if they like what they bought, go to forums on it and THEN you check where you can buy it cheaper! 
For instance, here in Sweden, we use pricerunner.se. This shows us where we can buy something the prices in lists and reviews from people who bought it on that online store. Ten you also check eBay to see if you can find a trustworthy store owner and/or a better price. And yes, I include shipping in that price limit. I have done that with my DSLR, phone and so on. And I have yet to be unlucky thankfully.

Best Inexpensive Washi Tape Shops

This all started with buying some very inexpensive cute washi tapes! I'm nearly done with organizing my planner since I've been experimenting with inserts and printables I've done. Soon I'll add more to the blog free for download!

But as of today, I've decided to share some of my favorite eBay stores that have done a great job at sending things quick and good quality (as well as cheaper! And that's always important!)

First off, I have bought these with my own money, nothing was given to me and I'm just sharing because I'm assuming many of you, like me,  also like things cheap and cheerful.

Honestly this was the best experience I've had with an eBay shop ever! I bought the washi tapes and 3 days later I've received them from Hong Kong! They were in good condition and the images did not lie! Plus they sell the cutest most wonderful things for stationary addicts like me!

Again, a large assortment of cute things that I have to force myself to NOT buy, while being very inexpensive in comparison to other online stores. Did I say they had cute things? I am not disappointed!

3. LightInTheBox.com

I've never heard of this online shop until recent but it can be dangerous! It has a lot of things (not so much in cute planner accessories) and they sell for very inexpensive! And the tapes they sell are very colorful and different from the ones available on eBay.

4. warehouse87

I'm aware this seller has only 98% positive feedback but I've had good business with them and got my glitter golden washi tape goodness only four days after buying it. Again, keep in mind this is from China to Sweden. I'm glad I've risked it because glitter. :P

If you look at their page you'll see the most desirable things for a planner nerd to ever buy! I have to admit that I'm still waiting for my order to arrive but I had to mention them as they have so many kawaii things that it's impossible not to mention them!

Spicy Baked Parsnip Fries

 You may not enjoy parsnips but I found a way for you to enjoy these without having them in soup.
I know right? In my mind parsnips is stringy and fibrous, so cooking it like this made it less earthy yet very enjoyable. Totally deliscous. Also the lemon acts like magic in this recipe making the interior tender whilst the outside is crispy!

Yes I know it's cold and that hot chocolate is looking at you with sexy eyes! Believe me I feel the same pain. And as such I've been coming up with snacks that are both filling and keep my sweet tooth satisfied without having my conscious nagging me. These are some of my favorite healthy snacks on the go, for the kids, for work or just if you're trying to control your weight-loss!

Free Planner Printable: For the Home Wishlist

Since I got my new planner, I've been obsessed with decorating it! I absolutely love the look of washi tapes, stickers, cute dashboards filled with post its and everything else related to the planner community and making the planning life easier!
Because of this I've decided to start making my own inserts to better match my system. With that being said I also thought it would be nice to share these inserts with everyone because sharing is caring! Corny I know, but true!

Wanting to improve your blogging system is overall a must if you're trying to make blogging part of your business. If so, then I've found some productivity tools that can ensure you make it the most out of your blog's life while working a full time job.

1.Write posts in bulk and schedule them. 

Work in bulk. Sit down one day with the intent of only writing. Nothing else. This will keep your mind focused, your time strict and your blog full of topics. You can start by scribbling some ideas on a piece of paper and then evolving from there. Even if you think they're stupid, do not throw them away! Work on them and better the content. I promise that by the end you'll have a fully written article!

2.Do the most important tasks in the morning on the weekends.

If your blog is your job, then work first thing in the morning. But if you're like me and get back from work later, you need to shower and then get on that computer and write to your heart's content!

3.Bring your blog planner to work. 

Having a blog planner means that you can write down your blog posts. Don't like writing on paper? Well you can use your iPad BUT having to rewrite your post means you'll be able to explain your thoughts better since you can edit them once more.

My Favorite Everyday Green Smoothie

This has to be one of my favorite kale smoothie recipes that I've put together! It keeps you full until lunch and since I work in a preschool and we have to go out for a few hours until midday, it’s very important that I keep energized and not hungry.

My recipe is very tropical tasting and most importantly, it doesn't taste “healthy” even though it totally is, so if you don't like smoothies this one is a great start to a nutritious and vitamin filled diet.

This green monster smoothie is simple to make every morning because I blended the kale with a bit of water and froze it in cubes, making the process so quick to make on mornings when I'm running late!

If you workout then this is also a good choice and you can add your protein powder for added protein. I prefer adding vanilla flavored one which gives this beverage a very nice flavorful touch.

15 things only expats will understand

I have noticed that defining an expatriate not only means that you left your country, but also, that you pick up habits that are specific to adapting your life to a new country and culture. Before I start let me give you a bit of a back story, I have lived in the USA as an expatriate, previously to living in Portugal before I moved, in 2012, to Sweden. I have lived in Scandinavia for 2 years now with my boyfriend. It feels like six months as it is one of the best countries to live in.

During these two years I have learned many things besides the language, therefore, deciding to share this knowledge seemed appropriate. I have met many other expats in Sweden and have noticed we form a bond only we understand; whether it’s how to go to that one international gourmet store and what ingredients you can find there, or what packages you got from home and how you pack your luggage when visiting home.

1. Coins everywhere!
You have euros in your car, kroners in your pocket and dollars in your wallet because you are THAT organized. And then you have to pay for your Quest Bar and you grab a euro thinking it’s the right currency… yeah.
